Beautiful artisan mixed-metal modernist earrings attributed to Pennsylvania jewelry designer Phil Reeder, combining polished sterling silver with warm 14K yellow gold details.
Each earring features a highly polished sterling silver sphere suspended from a 14K yellow gold lever-back closure. Small decorative gold caps frame the top and bottom of each silver orb, creating a refined two-tone contrast while allowing the spheres to move freely when worn.
The simple spherical form and restrained mixed-metal construction give the earrings a wonderfully clean, timeless Modernist aesthetic. Although petite in scale, the bright silver orbs catch and reflect the surrounding light beautifully, while the solid gold details lend warmth and an elevated finishing touch.
Pierced ears with secure 14K yellow gold lever-back closures.
The earrings have been professionally polished and are in excellent vintage condition with a bright, highly reflective finish. Any lines or variations visible in the photographs are primarily reflections from the polished surfaces.
A sophisticated and highly wearable pair of American artisan earrings combining sterling silver, 14K yellow gold and classic geometric Modernist design.
Circa 1980s–1990s.
